Affordable Berwyn
The Mayor is committed to providing programs and services to help keep Berwyn affordable.
Economic Development
Tools for your business success including tax increment Tax Increment Financing (TIF), Commercial Loan Program, Technical Assistance and Site Location Assistance.
The City of Berwyn provides tools, resources, special programs, and education training for students, job seekers, and professionals seeking development.
Employment
Equal access to programs, services and employment is available to all persons. Those applicants requiring reasonable accomodation to the application and/ or interview process should notify a representative of the Human Resources Department.
Grants
Every year, the City of Berwyn administers a series of community development grants. These grants specifically support the City's goals with respect to providing decent, affordable housing, expanding economic opportunity, and serving low and moderate income populations.
Health and Wellness
The City of Berwyn works with community partners, internal departments to promote health, prevent disease, reduce environmental hazards and insure access to health care for all residents of Berwyn.
Historic Preservation
Berwyn boasts many historically and architecturally significant buildings, both commercial and residential, throughout the city.
Housing
The Department of Community Development/Block Grants and Berwyn Township Assessor's office, promotes affordable, for-sale and rental housing in communities citywide, provides financial assistance for housing improvements, facilitate access and independent living for seniors and the disabled, and offers a variety of programs that help residents reduce property taxes, refinance their mortgages, and avoid foreclosure.
Safety
The Berwyn Police Department and Berwyn Fire Department provide public safety for residents and visitors in Berwyn, including City's planning for issues related to Homeland Security.
Senior Care
This Division and its Senior Advocate serves as the bridge between seniors and governmental agencies.
Transportation
The traffic engineer manages and studies traffic operations in the City and investigates requests for changes in parking or traffic from City Council, City Staff or residents.
